Man Cave, Meals Together and Carpe Testes Get the Nod from Webby’s

APR 17_2008
Salt Lake City, UT – April 17, 2008 – Leading creative and design boutique Struck continues to receive validation of impressive work with an announcement that three websites are being honored at the 12th Annual Webby Awards.

Struck designed and effectuated the groundbreaking OfficialMancave.com microsite for Alltel, the only site of its kind shot entirely on a steady cam. The Man Cave is being recognized as an Official Honoree. The site is part of a national, multiplatform ad campaign for the wireless carrier, which launched last August. Struck worked with creative agency Campbell-Ewald on the site.

Tribal DDB San Francisco engaged Struck to develop a powerful multi-brand site for Clorox called MealsTogether.com. This site is an official honoree in food and beverage category of the Webby’s.

Additionally, Struck created and executed the website CarpeTestes.org, for the non-profit Sean Kimerling Testicular Cancer Foundation with the goal of raising awareness of testicular cancer. The agency created five unique videos that have been catching viewer’s attentions on the site itself, as well as YouTube.com. Carpe Testes is nominated in the Public Services and Activism Category, and is competing for two awards: The Webby Award, and the Webby People’s Choice Award. The People’s Choice Award will be open to public voting until May 1st, 2008, on the Webby Awards homepage.

Ryan Goodwin, Executive Design Director said, “Getting nominated for a Webby feels like a UFO sighting deep into a sugar-overload—you can't believe it could feel so good. Not to mention that the site supports such a great cause. Now if we could just win the popularity contest for People's Voice...”

As nominees, both sites are being recognized as one of the five best in the world in its category. The awards are judged by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences and received nearly 10,000 entries from all 50 states and over 60 countries. Winners will be announced on May 6, 2008, and honored at The 12th Annual Webby Awards in New York City.
