The Mario Super Sluggers site revolves around 41 baseball-style cards of characters from the game that are randomly delivered through interactive banners. Visitors to the site can combine their cards to get “double plays” of videos and screensavers, as well as trade cards with their peers. With the target audience in mind, we masterfully crafted Flash and PaperVision aesthetics for a clean user-friendly experience, and backed the data-driven site up with programming in Python and Django. In addition to the main site, we’re also developing a mobile site that allows users to monitor their card collections via cell phone. With school just around the corner, it makes you wonder how many 12 year-olds are going to sit in the back of their classrooms and trade cards on their iPhones. On second thought, it makes you wonder how many Struckers are trading cards on their iPhones right now...
